"متسول المأساة" تعرض هذه الرواية في إحدى جوانبها مدى تأثير الخوف والقمع على بنيّة المجتمع السوري وبنية العلاقات بين أفراده، في حين يتعرض المجتمع لكمّ من الترهيب النفسي والوجودي بأشكالٍ سياسية وأخرى اقتصادية تنعكس سلباً على سلوكيات الأفراد وأسس ترابطهم.
اقتباس من الرواية: أسئلةٌ دونَ أجوبة على هذا النهجِ يسيرُ الكون، فيتمدّد ليتسعَ لها. لكن صدرَ الإنسانِ محدود ويخنقه كل سؤال بلا إجابة، وأقصرُ الناسِ عمراً أؤلئكَ الذين هزمتهم الأسئلة. هل تولدُّ الأجوبةُ مع الأسئلةِ ثُمَّ يفترقان، يختصمان، تنبتُ بينهما البغضاءُ فلا يلتقيان؟!من يدري!
