Book Description
بينما كان «الأب براون» جالسًا في منزل السيد «إم دوروك»، أخذ يناقش مع ضيفهما الأمريكي، السيد «جرانديسون تشيس»، فكرةَ أن المُحقق يحاول وضع نفسه مكان المجرم، وتَطرَّقوا جميعًا في الحديث إلى بعض القضايا التي تَوصل «الأب براون» إلى معرفة الجُناة فيها، وصِفات المجرمين الذين قابلهم، وكيف أنه يلعب دور القاتل في مُخيلته كي يستطيع التوصل إلى الجاني الحقيقي. واستمر النقاش في محاولة لسَبر أغوار نفوس أولئك المجرمين، لتتفجر مفاجأة اهتز لها السيد «جرانديسون تشيس» من الصدمة. فما تلك المفاجأة؟ وما رد فعل «جرانديسون تشيس»؟ وما علاقة المُحقق الخاص المتقاعد واللص السابق، «فلامبو»، بكل ذلك؟ وما وجهة نظر «الأب براون» في كل ما يحدث؟ هذا ما سنعرفه من خلال قراءة أحداث القصة المثيرة.
