النفس البشرية ومشاكلها المتعددة. لطالما تطرق الكتاب والمؤلفون إلى هذا الجانب الإنساني في كتاباتهم و مواضيعهم. وفي هذه الرواية يتطرق المؤلف لمرض (فصام الشخصية ) بأسلوب سلس وشيق، حيث يُعرف به وبأعراضه ونتائجه من خلال سردٍ للأحداث التي يمر بها بطل الرواية. ويستعرض ما يمر بهِ من ظروف حالية مع ربطها بالماضي القاسي الذي عانى منه في الصغر.. مما أوصله إلى مرحلة حرجة مع المرض دفعه للقيام بأعمال جنونية تقوده نحو الهاوية.
