أولى روايات الكاتب فيصل حوراني، وقد صدرت في العام 1973، في دمشق ، وأعاد الكاتب إنتاجها وأصدرها في طبعة جديدة في العام 2004 ، في رام الله ، وتجرى أحداث الرواية في الشهور الواصلة بين العامين 1970 و 1971 ، ويتجسّد فيها ذلك الصراع الذي يدور في السجن بين الأسير ومحقّق المخابرات، الصراع الذي يجتهد كلّ واحد منهما أن يهزم فيه الآخر؛ السجين بقدرته على احتمال الأذى ورفضه المغريات التي يعرضها المحقّق ؛ وهذا المحقّق بما يتوفر له من سلطة لإيذاء سجينه وما يتوفر لدولته من مغريات لتدفع السجين إلى الرضوخ لمشيئتها؛ إنه الصراع الذي لا بدّ من أن ينتصر فيه واحد من هذين الإثنين.
