Book Description
كتاب الجزية تأليف عثمان صبري عثمان عوض، يعد هذا الكتاب دراسة تاريخية حول الجزية في عهد الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم، فهي ضريبة تفرض على رؤوس من دخل في ذمة المسلمين من أهل الكتاب. وهي من غير المسلمين قائمة مقام الزكاة من المسلمين، وذلك أن كل فرد من أفراد الدولة قادر على أن يؤدي قسطا مما يصرف في المصالح العامة يجب أن يفرض عليه هذا القسط ليكون له مقابل هذا الواجب التمتع بالحقوق.
فإن كان الفرد من الرعية مسلما فالواجب عليه معين في ماله وهو الزكاة. وإن كان من غير المسلمين فالواجب عليه معين على رأسه، وهو بمنزلة الزكاة من المسلم، وإذا أسلم الذمي سقطت عنه الجزية ووجبت عليه الزكاة في ماله.
وأهل الذمة هم أهل الكتاب، وبينهم وبين المسلمين عهد مؤبد، ويكون لهم ما للمسلمين وعليهم ما عليهم.
