ألم الظهر: عارض شائع جداً في منطقة العمود الفقري السفلية، التي تدعى بالمنطقة القطنية، قد يكون هذا الألم ناجماً عن إصابة أو قد يحدث تلقائياً. وعادة ما تهاجم آلام الظهر السفلية الحادة المريضَ مفاجأةً وبغير سبب واضح، وتصيبُ آلام الظهر 4 من كل 5 أشخاص في وقت ما من حياتهم. وهو الثاني من حيث الترتيب في الاضطرابات المؤلمة بعد الصداع. أولاً: أسباب ألم أسفل الظهر (المنطقة القطنية): تنتج آلام الظهر المتكررة عن سوء عمل العضلات التي تدعم العمود الفقري، ويمكن إرجاعها إلى حالات معينة، منفردة أو مجتمعة، وهي: 1- نمط حياة يكثر فيه الجلوس. 2- الوقوف لمدة طويلة، أو الجلوس بوضعية خاطئة. 3- ضعف عام في العضلات. 4- ممارسة التمارين الرياضية بطريقة خاطئة من غير إشراف مختص. 5- تشوه خلقي. 6- أسباب التهابية: وأشهرها التدرن، والبروسيلا المالطية للمزيد تفضل بقراءة الكتاب.
