هنا صاح إبليس اللعين ، وتذكَّر أمر أجداده ممن كانوا يسكنون الأرض قبل خلق آدم ، وكيف قضت الملائكة عليهم ، ولم تُبقِ منهم أحداً ، إلَّا مَن فَرَّ منهم إلى تلك الأماكن التي تأنف الملائكة أن تدخلها ، وبعد صعود الملائكة إلى السماء حاملة معها إبليس ، نفخ ( إسرافيل ) في البوق العظيم وهو ينظر إلى الأرض التي عَمَّتها الفوضى ، وإنتشر فيها الخراب وقال : ( لقد فعلنا ما أمُرنا به، فسلام عليك يا سوميا أنت وبنيك من الجان الآن ). وقفلت السماء ، فظهر وهجٌ عظيم أحرقَ الأرض وزلزلها، خَلفه غبار كثيف أظلم الأرض لمدة عامٍ مات فيه من الجان ما مات .. حتى دعا سوميا ربَّه، ودعا أبناءه من الجان إلى العودة إلى الله والإكثار من الاستغفار ، فظهرت الشمس من جديد ، لكي تفتح صفحة هي الأولى في التاريخ بعد عام الظلام الذي أحاط بالأرض ، وعُرف هذا العصر بــ (عصر الجان الثاني).
