إنّ كثيرا من الدراسات اهتمت بالعنوان وأهملت العتبات الأخرى كما هو الحال في (العنوان في الأدب العربي: النشأة والتطور) لمحمد عويس و (العنوان وسيميوطيقا الاتصال الأدبي) لفكري الجزار و (سيمياء العنوان) لبسام قطوس و (في نظرية العنوان) لخالد حسين وهكذا و (عتبات الكتابة في الرواية العربية) لعبد المالك اشهبون الذي احتفى بهذه العتبة إلى جانب عتبات أخرى وغيرها من الدراسات، وهناك دراسات حددت جوانب مختلفة منها، إلا أننا نفتقر إلى وجود دراسة شاملة وافية معنية بالعتبات كلها، وإن جاءت فهي ملحقة بفصول أخرى من الكتاب غير المعني بهذه القضية بالدرجة الأساس.
