"مدونة لبيروت" مجموعة شعرية يحتفي فيها الشاعر "زياد آل الشيخ" بمدينة بيروت، هي صور حية للمكان، والزمان، والحدث تتنوع بالشكل والمحمول الدلالي يعبر من خلالها الشاعر عن مشاهداته، وانطباعاته، وعشقه لبيروت. ثم ما يلبث أن يسجل موقفاً من الحرب والدمار الذي يقضي على أحلام الناس ومستقبلهم أيضاً.
تحت عنوان [16 يوليو 2006] يقول: نراقب هذا الكلام المعار/ ونجلس فوق قباب اللغة/ نرقش أحجاره بالمجاز/ فلا خفقه القلب في حلقنا/ أو جراح حدائقنا/ أو سكاكين أحلامنا حين تذبحنا/ سيفهمها بلد أو أحد/ إذاً فلنمت للأبد". وهكذا يتابع الشاعر أيام العدوان الإسرائيلي صيف 2006 يوماً بيوم ويصف مشاعر الناس، وآلامهم، وفقدهم لأعز أبناءهم، وخراب بيوتهم وذكرياتهم وقتل طفولتهم، ثمر ما يلبث الأمل أن يتجسد بقصيدة حب "نتابع أحلامنا بقصيدة حبَ على ربوةٍ من بعيد/ يسكنون أحلامهم في المصانع/ في غرفة من حديد".
مجموعة شعرية رائعة كثيفة الصور، حتى يبدو لكل وجه صورة، ولكل حكاية صورة، ولكل حلم صورة، ..نسجها خيال الشاعر شعراً يقرأ.
