كتاب يبحث عن أصل الطقوس والتعاليم التي اعتمدتها الكنائس مبيناً بأنها حدثت بعد المسيح بأجيال وليست من الديانة التي سلَّمها المسيح لخلفائه موضحاً بروح المحبة العبادة و التقوى الحقيقيين ذاكراً عن حقائق ممارسة الأعياد ورجوعها الأصلي بالمعتقدات الكنسية موضحاً بأن الرب لم يأمر بحفظها وليس لها ذكرٌ بين أوامر الرسل ولو كان قد حُفِظَ منها شيء في قرون الكنيسة الأولى شارحاً ايضاً عن اصل الصوم وتاريخ دخوله موضحاً بأن مخلصنا لم يأمر بالصوم كما لم ينهي عنه كما يذكر أصل عبادة القديسين والملائكة مقدماً اعظم الأسباب واقواها لعذه العبادات وما ينتج عنها من عبادة الأيقونات ورسم إشارة الصليب وعبادته مضيفاً عن قانون الإعتراف للكهنة وتاريخ رجوعه الى بعد المسيح بألف وثلاث مئة سنة كما يشرح عن موضوع الإستحالة وعبادة القربان شارحا أيضاً عن المطهر والصلاة لأجل الأموات وتقدير الذخائر وإيقاد البخور واستعمال المصابيح والأضواء في النهار مضيفاً عن امور الترهب وعدم زواج الإكليروس وفرز الأثيم من جماعة المؤمنين وتأديبه ويشرح عن إستعمال الزيت والميرون موضحاً عن ماهية الأسرار في تعاليم الكنيسة هادفاً الكاتب الى إستطاعة القارئ أن يقايس هذه الأمورمع الكتاب المقدس كي يعبد الله بالروح والحق.
