تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تناول قصيدة )أبي أيها العربي وكان الوداع(، لإبراهيم بن عمر صعابي، أحد شعراء منطقة جازان، الذين نظموا القصيدة التقليدية والتفعيلة. وتندرج القصيدة السابقة تحت شعر التفعيلة، نظمها الشاعر في رحيل والده، وتميّزت باتقاد العاطفة وصدقها. وعلى المستوى اللفظي، اتسمت بجزالة اللفظ والغموض والرمزية، وترى الباحثة أن المنهج السيميائي الأنسب للولوج إلى أعماقها وفكّ رموزها، والنظر في دلالاتها السيمائية على مستوى الشكل والمضمون. وقد بدأتُ بالتحليل السيميائي للعنوان وقيمته وعلاقته بالنص، ثم انتقلت إلى التحليل السيميائي للنص، والغوص في أعماقه؛ للكشف عن دلالاته السيميائية في لفظه ومعناه، وأنهيتُ التحليل بالمربع السيميائي، الذي يتكوّن من ألفاظ تربط بينها علاقة تضاد وأخرى تضمين.
