ينطلق المؤلف في هذا الكتاب من منطلق إنساني وليس ديني كما أن الأفكار والخواطر الموجودة في صفحات هذا الكتاب إنسانية وليست دينية، وهي القاعدة نفسها التي انطلقت منها الرسالات السماوية، التي تؤسس لوحدانية الله الذي يحاسب ولا يحاسب وتساوي بين البشر كلهم لا فرق بينهم، والمؤلف يتطرق في هذا الكتاب لجرائم المافيات الدينية، فيعدد بعضها ويشرحها بشكل مبسط ومختصر، متعمداً الاختصار الشديد عند عرضه الأفكار. وغايته في ذلك الوصول إلى القارئ العربي الحديث والقاعدة العريضة من القراء الذين يكونون آراءهم من خلال متابعتهم للوسائل الإعلامية المملوكة لما يسميه الكاتب "التحالف الشيطاني".
ويقول الكاتب: "إني أطلقت تسمية المافيا على رجال الدين والسياسة في عالمنا منذ الانقلاب الأموي على الإسلام الذي تحول من إسلام الشورى إلى ملكية وراثية بيزنطية ترفع راية إسلامية مزيفة".
كثيرة هي الإصدارات التي حاولت أن تتعاطى مع النص القرآني بعقلية جديدة وبرؤية تنسجم مع معطيات العصر الذي أصبحت الحداثة واحدة من أهم سماته.
لكن معظم هذه الدراسات لم تحقق الأثر المرجو منها، ولم تستطع أن تؤثر في العقل الجمعي للأمة العربية، ذلك أن وعورة الأسلوب حالت دون الجمهور العريض والتفاعل مع تلك الأفكار والرؤى الشجاعة.
في هذا الكتاب يدخل المؤلف عبد الحق الحر إلى جبهة الإصلاح متسلحاً بلغة مباشرة، واضحة وبسيطة، وقريبة من نبض الناس وهمومهم، بحيث إنه لم يرتهن لروابط العرق ولم يركن إلى شروط تقليدية في صياغة مفهوم المواطنة، مقدماً نظرة جريئة معاصرة وغير مسبوقة، ليس على صعيد العالم العربي والإسلامي فقط، بل على الصعيد الإنساني بشكل عام.
