تحتاج اللذة لجسدين لتكتمل قبل أن تنطفئ. عرف نديم هذه الحقيقة لاحقاً، اكتشف أن في جسده جحافل من الشهوات، والأعاصير تكتوي بصقيعها. والانهيارات تتوج البداية الشبقة. كان عليه أن يعرف، وأن يختبر خطيئته، ورجوعه إلى منفاه، إلى عزلته المرهفة، إلى بيت مقدسه.
اعتقد نديم أن لا مقياس يحدد البيوت الحبيبة، أمه ليست أجمل النساء ويحبها كما لم يحب أحداً، ويحب بيته كأمه، ويعشق وطنه كأمه، يعرف أن هناك أوطاناً أجمل من وطنه، لا وطن أحب إليه من وطنه، إنه السر! لماذا نتعلق بالمكان الذي كنا فيه فراشات تلهو؟ لماذا ننجذب إلى الذكريات، والبصمات المستوحشة والأرواح القديمة؟
رائحة بيته في أنفه، فللبيوت كالأجساد رائحتها! في سفره انتظر الشتوة الأولى، أن يفوح التراب. صدمه أن لا رائحة فيه ولا عطر. تراب من عفن! يحاذر الهواء، لا يكتنز بسر الينابيع المتفجرة، ولا يشرع وجهه للشمس، يبقى في فيء الأشجار الصاعدة هباء إلى غيوم الكآبة والسهو. في ذاكرته الكسولة روائح، تسترجع زمناً.
يشم رائحة كنزته، حاكتها له جدته وهي تروي له حب الملك لراعية. حكاياتها إيجاز الهمسة أو الصرخة. جدة نديم لم تمتلك جسدها، امتلكت فقط طيفاً، ومنديلاً لربط شعرها الطويل.
اعتمالات كثيرة تهزنا عميقاً بعنف صامت وحزن رمادي، وتطرحنا على شطآن أخرى. حين نقرأ! تهب فينا وشائج الحزن وافرح، والدهشة والحنين والتذكار، وروائح الفصول. وتقفز من ذاكرة الموروثات حكايات الأهل وإيمانهم.
هي واحدة من حكايات العمر. هي حكاية جيل! هي عنقود الزمن، قطرته الأخيرة! في وجداننا طفولات بكل ألبسة المواسم! أنطوان سلامة بجرأة الواثق يتعرى، يكشف أحزانه وذلك القلق الوجودي القديم- الدائم، ينفخ رماد التذكار عن وجوه الراحلين.
هذا "الجالس على كرسيه" يحرك فينا بحيرات السكون الأزلي، ويعيد طرح الأسئلة المستحيلة. حين الأشياء تتذكر سيرها، يتساوى الحزن بالفرح، وننتقل إلى الحالة الثالثة، نكتشف الأشياء عبر حاسة سابعة، ونرى الوجود على ضوءة أخرى.
