لشهر رمضان مكانة خاصة في تراث وتاريخ المسلمين، لأنهم يؤمنون أن بدء الوحي وأول ما نزل من القرآن على النبي محمد (صلى الله عليه وسلم) كان في ليلة القدر من هذا الشهر في عام 610م. حيث كان رسول الله في غار حراء عندما جاء إليه الملك جبريل وقال له "اقرأ باسم ربك الذي خلق" وكانت هذه الآية هي الآية الأولى التي نزلت من القرآن.
في هذا الكتاب ضمّن الشيخ حسين الأعلمي الأعمال اليومية المستحب عملها في الشهر الفضيل ومن ضمنها أعمال ليالي القدر وأعمال وقت الإخطار وأعمال وقت الأسحار وبعض الأدعية المستحبة والأحاديث المروية عن أهل البيت.
