إن الله سبحانه فطر البشر على حبه ليصَبون إليه... وفطرهم على حبه ليسعون إلى كماله، منهم الفقراء إليه وهو الغني المطلق، وجعل غناهم بإستغنائهم عن غيرهم وغناهم بالله الغني المطلق، ومن حبه سبحانه وعطفه على البشر فتح باب رحمته الواسعة لهم، فأرسل رسوله ليثير دفائن العقول، ولينير للبشرية سبيل الرشاد، ويعلمهم طرق العبادة، وأحب سبحانه الإلحاح بالدعاء وجعله مفتاح الرحمة والنعمة، ومصباح الظلمة، فهو السبيل لردّ القضاء، وهو السبيل للمغفرة واستئناف العمل. ولكي يحصل التفاعل النفسي مع الدعاء، ولكي لا تتردد الكلمات في فضاء الفم؛ بل لتنعم النفس البشرية بتدبر معاني الدعاء وتنصهر معها، فيرق القلب القاسي، ويقشعر الجلد وتدمع العين.
من هنا ياتي هذا الكتاب الذي يقدم للمسلم أدعية وأعمال أيام وليالي شهر رمضان، حيث حاول المؤلف جمع جميع الأدعية التي يستحب ذكرها فيه، وإن ذكرت خارج أيامه ولياليه الفضيلة تسهيلاً على القارئ من حمل مجموعة كتب إذ أن ما ورد في هذا الكتاب يفي بالغرض.
هذا وإضافة إلى ذلك أغنى المؤلف كتابه بإيراد بعض الأبواب الأخرى الخاصة بشهر رمضان، وهي: آداب شهر رمضان، ثبوت الهلال، احكام الصوم (الصوم الواجب، صوم الرخصة، الصوم، المحرم، الصوم المستجب) خطبة الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم في استقبال شهر رمضان المبارك، بعض السور المستجب قراءتها في شهر رمضان وخارجه، ثم تلى ذلك أعمال شهر رمضان والأدعية فيه، ثم دعاء الإمام زين العابدين في يوم الفطر، دعاء البهاء، دعاء السحر المعروف بدعاء أبي حمزة الثعالبي، دعاء باعدني عند كربتي من أعمال السحر،... دعاء التسبيحات العشر، دعاء الإفتتاح، دعاء الجوشن الكبير، دعاء مكارم الأخلاق... دعاء الخضر عليه السلام المشهور بدعاء كميل بن زياد، دعاء ادريس عليه السلام، أدعية أيام الأسبوع،... دعاء الصباح، الزيارات، زيارة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، زيارة أمير المؤمنين رضي الله عنه، زيارة الإمام الحسن، زيارة وارث، زيارة جامعة لجميع الأئمة.
