ولقد ابتدأنا من المشرق، ومن مهد الإسلام، حيث نصت تعاليمه على كيفية التعامل مع غير المسلمين، لاسيما في وقت السلم والحرب. وحبذ السلام العادل، وعدم الجنوح إلى الحرب حتى يكون هناك اعتداء على المسلمين. ومن هنا جاءت التعاليم الإسلامية بمجموعة من الأخلاقيات التي توجب على المسلمين إتباعها في حالة اشتباكهم بالحرب مع الأمم الأخرى. ويعالج المبحث الأول: من أخلاقيات الحرب في الإسلام الباكر هذا الموضوع بوضوح، شارحاً ومبيناً المسائل التالية: لماذا الحرب في الإسلام؟ إعلان الحرب وتجنب الغدر في مفاجأة العدو، تحديد هوية المحاربين وحماية الأبرياء، وضعية رعايا الأعداء وأموالهم في دار الإسلام، احترام الفضيلة والإنسانية في أثناء الحرب، وتأمين الرسل واحترام العهود والمواثيق وفي هذه الأخلاقيات الدليل الساطع على احترام المسلمين لحقوق الشعوب التي تعاملوا معها في وقت الحرب.
