يضم هذا الكتاب بين طياته دراستين كان المؤلف "يوسف بكار" قد شارك عبر الأولى في وضع كتاب أشرفت عليه الدكتورة الشاعرة "سعاد محمد الصبّاح" وأعدّه وحرره الدكتور "عبد الله المعطاني"، فأرفد الكتاب ببحث جاء تحت عنوان "عبد الله الفيصل بين خصوصية الذات ونفوذ الآخر"، وهو الدراسة الأولى في كتابه هذا، أما الدراسة الثانية فهي نتاج مشاركة في جعل الاحتفال التكريمي للأمير الشاعر في مدينة "أبها" مركز منطقة "عسير" بالمملكة العربية السعودية في المدة (27/8-1/9/2001م).
وإن تكن الدراسة الأولى تعني بخصوصية الإبداع الذاتية للشاعر الأمير أو "شاعر الأمراء" كما كان يلقبه مارون عبود، وعلى نفوذ الآخر العربي القديم منه والحديث وتأثيره الفني فيه وفي شعره، فإن الدراسة الأخرى "الفضاءات الموسيقية في شعر عبد الله الفيصل" تنحو منحىً آخر، فتجوس في فضاءات شعره الفصيح الموسيقية الإيقاعية التي تتكشف بجلاء في فضاءين رئيسين اثنين، وما ينداح فيهما من فضاءات رافدة أخرى. الفضاء الأول الأكثر والأوسع هو فضاء موسيقي قصيدة "الشطرين" ذات الوزن الواحد والقافية الواحدة، وروافده الخارجية والداخلية.
