هذا الكتاب ليس كتابة لردم «الفجوة في علوم النسوة» بل لفتح الطريق وتجسير الفجوة بين الذات (الأنثى) والآخر (الرجل) وكذلك (المجتمع) في عاداته وتقاليده وقيمه السائدة، هي كتابات أو وقفات، ربما أرادت من ورائها الكاتبة "شريفة الصبغ" تقديم صورة واقعية عن المرأة من دون أن تمارس وصاية نقدية على القارئ، ما يشكل بحق نقلة نوعية قياساً على ما سبقها من محاولات في الكتابة النسوية.
تقول الكاتبة في مفتتح كتابها: "... دوافعي كثيرة حول الكتابة رغم أن لهجتي قد لا تكون سائغة لدى البعض، لكنني أنتقيها بعناية الثلاثين السالفة وما قد يأتي بعدها من سنوات لن تُحصى إلا لأجل طبيب أو مناسبة تَهم أحدهم فقناعاتي تقول إن ثلاثين عاماً من الأخذ توجب منح العالم ثلاثين عاماً من العطاء، ووفقاً لسياسة العطاء الكونية، فإن معاهداتها تقتضي ألا تُحصى ولا تتباهى بها ولا تُعظِم نفسك، فقد أخذت سلفاً جميع حقوقك وعطاءاتك سداد لا أكثر.
وتتابع الكاتبة: "وكعادة ألهمتني إياها الحياة سأبدأ من حيث احتار الآخرون، لأبحث عن الفجوة بلا ورقة ولا قلم أو ريشة ومصباح، بل لوحة مفاتيح، وأيباد أصحّح فيه أخطائي الإملائية وأستطرد في الحديث باستفاضة دون الرجوع إلى مكتبة تستوجب وجود سائق – عالي المزاج – مُتفهم لحاجتي الملحة في القراءة الآن وحالاً!
وهكذا ما بين "فجوة" و"سرد" و"وقفة" يأخذك الكتاب إلى طريق تعيد من خلاله النظر في كثير من الأمور والقضايا التي كبلت حياتك ويدفعك باتجاه مراجعة نقدية ومحاسبة ذاتية تحررك من الكثير من الهواجس والعقد والهموم. ستدرك بعدها وكما تقول الكاتبة: "أن هذه الأرض جنة وأن الحياة عليها بدافع خصوبتها في جني الأمنيات والأحلام هو المحرك الحقيقي لكل ساعٍ ومرتجٍ...".
