تخرج المرأة من اللغة ليستحوذ عليها الرجل وحده، ولتمعن الثقافة الذكورية في تغييبها بإعتبارها ذاتاً، فإضافة إلى تغييبها في الواقع، ستحضر في أدب الرجل وثقافته بوصفها موضوعاً لبلاغته، يتفنن في إختلاق الصور لها، فهي الملاك وهي الشيطان، وهي الغائبة وهي الحاضرة، وهي المعشوقة المعبودة وهي الموؤودة، هي الجمال وهي القبح، هي الرمز والمثال، وهي السحر والمكر والغدر والشر المتربص بالرجال.
يستحوذ الرجل على الكتابة، ويمنع المرأة من الوصول إليها، خاصة في ثقافتنا العربية، أو يترك الحكي الشفهي للنساء، ليضيف رؤيته أثناء التدوين، ويعتمد إلى تمثيلها وفقاً لتمثلاته عنها، وإنطلاقاً من موقعه المختلف ومن ثقافته الذكورية، فكان على المرأة في هذا الوضع أن تصمت، أو تعيد إنتاج صور الذكورة وتمثلاتها عنها، أو تكتب (وقد كان ذلك نادراً) لتمثل نفسها، فتهمل كتابتها أو تقبر.
لذلك تدخل المرأة زمناً حضارياً جديداً، هو زمن الكتابة، وتقرر أن تكون ذاتاً وموضوعاً لكتابتها في الوقت نفسه، وتضع حداً لنيابة الرجل عنها في رسم الأنوثة التي يشتهيها هو، وهي صور زائفة لا سند لها في ما هو طبيعي، بل تمتح شرعيتها من ثقافة صنعتها الذكورة، فكان على الكتابة أن تخلخل كل الموروث، وتضع الأنوثة وصورها موضع مراجعة ومساءلة ورفض، وكان عليها أن تقترح صوراً بديلة، ولكن كان عليها قبل ذلك أن تعلن دخولها اللغة وزمن الكتابة، وخروجها من أزمنة الصمت السحيقة، وتعلن إستعادتها لصوتها المغيب وقدرتها على تمثيل ذاتها.
وكان السرد في العالم العربي سلاحها الفعال، والرواية النوع الادبي الأقرب إليها، لمرونتها الفنية ولإنفتاحها الموضوعي.
