حين صدرتْ هذه المجموعة عام 1987م، شعرتُ بأنني وضعت قدميَّ على الطريق المحفوف بغيوم النثر. كنتُ قبلهاً متّهماً بمطر القصيدة، وكنتُ بين التهمة وبين الطريق، أكتب القصةَ المصابةَ بالشعر. أهدتني "انطفاءت الولد العاصي" النجمة الأولى في سماء القصة القصيرة، ولم تكدْ تصدرُ حتى اختفت، ولا أعرف ما أقصده الآن؛ هل هي النجمة أم المجموعة؟! ظللتُ دوماً أبحث عن هذه السماء، وربما أقترفُ هذه الخطوة اليوم، لأعود لمن غابوا عني.
