إن "الولاية" هي من أهم أسس الأصول المنهجية الاجتماعية والسياسية والمعنوية في الإسلام. شرحت وفسّرت في القرآن بأشكال متنوعة وواسعة، بوصفها أهم وأدقّ أصل في الدين يرتبط بالناحية العملية، إلا أن هذا الموضوع العميق والأساسي إلاّ باهتمام قليل، وقلم شرح للناس بشكل جذري وقرآني.
وفي هذا الكتاب مجموع ستة بحوث في الولاية ألقاها السيد علي الخامنئي من قبل أربع سنوات من انتصار الثورة في شهر رمضان المبارك في مسجد الإمام الحسن المجتبى في مشهد القدسة. وقد جاءت هذه البحوث ضمن محاضرات كانت بمثابة محاولة لبحث أهم الأسس الفكرية الإسلامية من خلال الآيات الواضحة في القرآن. ومن خلال الشرح والإيضاح الذي يعلّم السامعين أسلوب التدبر في القرآن والتعمق فيه، وتوضح وتشخص الأسس المذكورة في هذه الآيات، واستفيد من الموارد اللازمة من الروايات الصحيحة الصادرة عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم والأئمة المعصومين، لأجل التوضيح والتأكيد، ليتم تحديد أصل من أصول الإسلام، ومن بعد عملي ووليد التكليف، بوصفه أحد نقاط أسلوب التفكير في الإسلام وأيديولوجيته، عبر توفير الأرضية للتدبر في بعض آيات القرآن الكريم والتأمل فيها.
