يتضمن الكتاب ثلاثة عشر فصلا الفصل الاول يتناول مفهوم الاقتصاد الكلي والاهداف الاقتصادية والقطاعات الاقتصادية الكلية، الفصل الثاني يتضمن قياس مستوى النشاط الاقتصادي الكلي وحسابات الدخل القومي، والناتج المحلي الاجمالي والتدفقات الدائرية للدخل وطرق حساب الناتج المحلي الاجمالي ، ومبدأ القيمة المضافة وازدواجية القيد،ومتطابقة الحسابات القومية، اما الفصل الثالث يتناول الانفاق الاستهلاكي والادخار، ودالة الاستهلاك ودالة الادخارنوالانفاق الاستهلاكي، اما الفصل الرابع يبحث في الانفاق الاستثماري ومحدداته ودالة الطلب الاستثماري والكفاءة الحدية للاستثمار، اما الفصل الخامس يتناول النظرية البسيطة لتحديد الدخل القومي، وسلوك المنشآت ومعنى التوازن الكلي، وشرط التوزان الكلي، اما الفصل السادس يتناول التغير في الدخل التوازني ومبدأ المضاعف والتغير في الدخل التوازني جدوليا وبيانيا، والقانون الجبري للمضاعف البسيط، اما الفصل السابع يناقش دور الحكومة في تحديد الدخل التوازني، والموازنة الحكومية والاخار العام، والتوازن الكلي بوجود القطاع الحكومي، اما الفصل الثامن يناقش نظرية الطلب الكلي والعرض الكلي لتحدي الدخل القومي ومستوى الاسعار في الاجل القصير، اما الفصل التاسع يناقش نظرية الطلب الكلي والعرض الكلي لتحديد الدخل والاسعار التوازنية في الاجل الطويل، الفصل العاشر يتناول النقود والبنوك، تعريف النقود ووظائفها وتطور النقود وسوقها وعرضها وطلبها واشباه النقود، اما الفصل الحادي عشر يتناول الدورة الاقتصادية ومشكلة البطالة ومراحل الدورة الاقتصادية واسبابها وانواع البطالة، اما الفصل الثاني عشر يناقش اسباب التضخم وانواعه وتعريف التضخم وحساب معدل التضخم ، اما الفصل الثالث عشر يناقش النمو الاقتصادي والتنمية الاقتصادية ومصادره ودو الادخار والاستثمار في التنمية الاقتصادية، ونظريات النمو الاقتصادي.
