يتناول هذا الكتاب دراسة النظم الاسلامية، وهي دراسة لا غنى عنها لطالب الدراسات الشرعية، وكذا للمثقف الاسلامي، نظرا لأن الالمام بمنهج الاسلام للحياة في ميادينها المختلفة لا يتم إلا بدراسة كل نظام من الأنظمة التي جاءت بها الشريعة الاسلامية، وذلك بمعرفة تفاصيل أحكامه، وخصائصه، ومقاصده وغاياته وآثاره وثمراته، مستقلاً من جهة، ومتكاملاً من جهة أخرى مع النظم الاسلامية الأخرى. لذلك تناولنا في هذه الدراسة بيان بعض الأنظمة الرئيسية في الاسلام، الواحد تلو الآخر ببيان الأحكام الواردة في الكتاب، والسنة، وما بني عليهما من اجتهاد سائغ، والتي تخص كل ميدان من ميادين الحياة المتنوعة بأسلوب وسط بعيد عن الايجاز المخل، أو الاسهاب الممل، وبالقدر الذي يعطي فكرة أساسية، وضرورية لطلاب الدراسات الشرعية، وللمعنيين بالثقافة الاسلامية، وغيرهم بشأن تنظيم الاسلام للحياة. ويكتسب هذا الموضوع أهمية بالغة، إذا عرفنا أن دراسة الأحكام الشرعية الخاصة بجانب معين من جوانب الحياة، كأحكام الأسرة، أو أحكام الجريمة والعقوبة، أو غيرها مما يدرسه الطالب دراسة مستقلة في مراحله الدراسية المختلفة، أو يدرسها المثقف الاسلامي بصفتها أحكاماً شرعية، تبقى دراسة بتراء إذا لم ينظر إليها متكاملة مع تنظيمات الاسلام للجوانب الأخرى، والتي شرعها الاسلام متأثرة بها ومؤثرة فيها، لأن نظم الاسلام للحياة يكمل بعضها بعضا، لتكون في النهاية الصورة المثلى لمنهج الاسلام للحياة، وهو ما تعتني بدراسته مادة هذا الكتاب. وقد أقر تدريس مادة هذا الكتاب بوصفه منهجاً للدراسة لمادة النظم الاسلامية في الجامعات العراقية لسنوات عدة، ولا يزال يدرس فيها حتى الآن.
