"أنا أعلم بما مع الدجال منه، معه: نهران، أحدهما نار تأجج في هين من يراه، والآخر ماء أبيض فمن أدركه منكم فليغمض عينيه، وليشرب من الذي يراه ناراً فإنه ماء بارد، وإياكم والآخر فإنه فتنة، واعلموا أنه مكتوب بين عينيه كافر يقرؤه من كتب ومن لم يكتب وإن إحدى عينيه ممسوحة عليها ظفره، وأنه يطلع من آخر عمره على بطن الأردن على ثنية أفيق، وكل أحد يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر ببطن الأردن، وإنه يقتل من المسلمين ثلثاً، ويهزم ثلثاً، ويبقى الثلث، فيحجز بينهم الليل، فيقول بعض المؤمنين لبعض : ما تنتظرون أن تلحقوا بإخوانكم في مرضاة ربكم، من كان عنده فضل طعام فليعد به على أخيه، وصلوا حين ينفجر الفجر وعجلوا صلاتكم ثم أقبلوا على عدوكم" قال: "فلما قاموا يصلون نزل عيسى وإمامهم يصلي فلما انصرف قال هكذا فرجوا بيني وبين عدو الله"، قال" فيذوب كما يذوب الملح فيسلط الله عليهم المسلمين فيقتلونهم حتى إن الحجر والشجر لينادي، يا عبد الله يا مسلم هذا يهودي فاقتله، ويظهر المسلمون، فيكسر الصليب، ويقتل الخنزير، ويضع الجزية، فبينما هم كذلك إذا أخرج الله يأجوج ومأجوج فيشرب أولهم البحيرة ويجيء آخرهم وقد انشقوا فما يدعون فيه قطرة، فيقولن كان ها هنا أثر ماء مرة، وبني الله وأصحابه وراءهم حتى يدخلوا مدينة من مدائن فلسطين يقال لها باب لد فيقولون: ظهرنا على من في الأرض فتعالوا فقاتل من في السماء، فيدعو الله نبيه عند ذلك فيبعث الله عليهم قرحة في حلوقهم فلا يبقى منهم بشر، ويؤذي ريحهم المسلمين فيدعو عيسى عليهم فيرسل الله عليهم ريحاً تقذفهم في البحر أجمعين".
هذا حديث من الأحاديث الكثيرة التي تضمنها هذا الكتاب الذي يمثل خلاصة ما جاء في كتاب الحافظ ابن كثير "نهاية البداية والنهاية" والذي جاء حول المسيح الدجال، نسبه، مولده، اسمه وصورته وفتنته ومكان خروجه وكيفية النجاة منه.
