لقد جمع جمعة حمّاد، في هذه المشاهد، بين روحه العذبة وعذوبة الأسلوب، واستطاع، بالمراوحة بين فضاءي القصّ والسرد الصحفي، أن يقدم لنا نصوصاً مشبعة بالحيوية، وغنية بالمضمون، ويصرّ على تعريفنا بصحبه ومضيفيه في كل رحلة، وإذ يقطف من ورد الذاكرة البدوية جملاً وكلمات فإنه يشكل حياة تملأ النصّ بروح الصلة بالمكان والزمان والناس.
لم يكن جمعة حمّاد خاضعاً للدهشة في الغرب، بل مثّل وعياً سياسياً وثقافياً بقضايا العصر، والصلات بين مصالح الدول وما يقع من أحداث ومظالم، وظلت صورة الفلسطيني التائه تبعث الأسى في روحه في كل سفر عاشه، وكل دعوة لبّاها، وظل صاحب موقف متقدم في الدعوة إلى الدخول في التحدي الحضاري دون أن يخسر روحه، أو يتخلّى عن شيء من مواقفه.
