وأدب الرحلات في بدء الأمر ومنتهاه هو محاولة لإكتشاف سر الأشياء وسبر الأغوار للوصول إلى الحقيقة والمتعة والفائدة.
والمؤلف دبلوماسي يمني مثل بلاده في عدة عواصم عربية وأوروبية وعمل قنصلاً بسفارة الجمهورية اليمنية في واشنطن، وتسنى له زيارات عدد من الدول وكتب عدد من المقالات والدراسات في صحف ومجلات يمنية وعربية عند نهاية السبعينات كما صدر له كتاب بعنوان الإتحاد الأوروبي والعلاقات اليمنية الأوروبية في طبعتين.
