تقع هذه الرواية في 312 صفحة وتتميز بخطينِ هما: الخط السردي الذي يعتمد الفانتازيا في خلق عوالم داخل الرواية، الفانتازيا ذات الخامات الحقيقية الكثيرة التي لها اسقاطاتها الواقعية. والخط الثاني هو خط اللغة الذي له بعده الصوفي برمزيته الموحية ودلالاتها. ولعلَ المزجَ بينَ هذينِ الخطين هو ما خلق في الرواية مسارات وتفسيرات متعددة حتى للحكاية الواحدة فيها. ومن أجوائها نقرأ: نحن قوم عانينا الكثير من الترحال، الراحة لم تكتب لنا، نحن قوم منفيون في الأرض، عاداتنا وتقاليدنا ابتكرناها على هذا الأساس، لا يسمح لنا بكسرها، وما تكسر حتى يكون علاجها سفك دم، والدم المسفوك رغم علمنا أنه لا يصلح المكسور، نصِر ونزرعه في جيناتنا لِنصابَ بالخنوع والخضوع، ليس لي غاية فيكم ولا عليكم، غايتي أناي.
