جاء في الحديث عن الإمام محمد الباقر أنه قال: " يكون في آخر الزمان قوم يتبع فيهم قوم مراؤون، يتقرؤون، يتنسكون، حدثاء، سفهاء، لا يوجبون أمراً بمعروف ولا نهياً عن منكر إلا إذا أمنوا الضرر، يطلبون لآنفسهم الرخص والمعاذير، يتبعون زلات العلماء وفساد علمهم، يقبلون على الصلاة والصيام ومالاً يكلمهم، أي يضرهم، في نفس أو مال. ولو أضرت الصلاة بأموالهم وأبدانهم لرفضوها ". إن هذا الحديث يسلط الضوء على مأساة تنتشر في آخر الزمان وهي ما يتعلق بأمور الدين، حيث يقبل الناس على الأخذ بـ " الفتاوى السهلة " و " الحيل الشرعية " و " الرخص والإجازات "، كما أنهم يتبعون من يفتي لهم ما يتناسب مع أهوائهم مع علمهم بزلاتهم ومخالفتهم للإجماع، إلى غير ذلك من الأحوال التي تنبئ عن الجرأة والإستخفاف والإستهتار بأمور الدين. من هنا كان من الضروري أن نتحدث عن " الإحتياط في الدين " لإلفات النظر إلى ضرورة العودة إلى الأصالة الدينية التي تقرب العبد من الله تعالى.
