Book Description
Ce dictionnaire français - arabe se veut un ouvrage de référence pour tout lecteur francophone bilingue, qu’il soit étudiant, chercheur ou tout simplement un lecteur curieux de ce qui fait le lien et aussi la différence entre la langue française et la langue arabe.
Comme l’objectif de tout lexicographe bilingue est d’offrir à l’utilisateur un nombre maximum de mots et d’expressions et- en même temps- de mettre entre ses mains un livre facilement accessible et maniable, nous avons limité la nomenclature, c’est-à-dire l’ensemble des entrées du dictionnaire, aux mots les plus utilisés et les plus fréquents. Ceux-ci ont été classés selon l’ordre alphabétique des entrées.
Pour faciliter la consultation de ce dictionnaire, l’entrée est présentée dans un caractère en couleurs. L’équivalent est mis en face sur la même ligne. Et, lorsque le mot est polysémique (affecté de plusieurs sens différents), nous avons opté pour le traitement homonymique ; c’est-à-dire, lorsque les sens du mot sont distants les uns par rapport aux autres et ne présentent pas de lien direct, chaque sens est présenté à part et le mot - entrée figure ainsi numéroté et est attesté dans la nomenclature autant de fois qu’il a de sens différents.
D’autre part, la synonymie étant très répandue dans l’une ou l’autre langue, et principalement dans le lexique le plus utilisé et le plus fréquent, nous avons mis en face de chaque entrée non pas une seule traduction (ou équivalent) mais autant qu’il est possible, laissant à l’utilisateur le soin d’en choisir le plus adéquat à sa recherche.
