"بين عصرين" إنجاز ضخم، وكتاب منبّه للعقل ومثير للأفكار، يجمع النقاد والباحثون على أنه واحد من الكتب الأكثر أصالة في الفكر السياسي والإجتماعي التي ظهرت في السنين الأخيرة، حيث يُبين الكاتب مدى تأثير التكنولوجيا والإلكترونيك على القيم السياسية والإجتماعية للولايات المتحدة والإتحاد السوفياتي، وسواهما من الدول التي يسميها "ما بعد الصناعية"، إن قراءته تجربة فريدة من نوعها حقاً.
