هذا الكتاب يقدم للقارئ ألية لفهم وتفهم ومقايسة صلاحية عينات من الخطاب الإسلامي المعاصر تضم أسامة بن لادن والخميني والقرضاوي والبوطي والتيجاني السماوي وابن باز وجودت سعيد ومحمد شحرور وفرج فوده والآغاخان. ويسعى لهتك الحجب التي تحول بيننا وبين رؤية المصالح المشتركة للبداهة الكلية للبشر، يسعى لتطيم أصنام منطق الجوهر العنصري، وكل من يدعون وجود تمايزات جوهرية بين البشر،ومن يقدمون مصالح منافية للبرهان أو مصالح تبرز العنصرية وازدواجية المعايير والظلم والاستبداد والاحتلال؟ هذه الدراسة تحاور الطاب الاسلامي المعاصر- عبر العينات المدروسة- من خلال مرجعية المنطق الحيوي وهو منطق يتفهم سائر ظواهر الإيمان وينظر إليه من زاوية الحياد الايجابي. ويعمل على اغناء هذا الإيمان ويحث المؤمنين على تجاوز مصالح القصور النظري والعملي في خطابهم واستبدالها بما هو اكثر حيوية وانسجاما مع بداهة وجودهم كبشر وكمؤمنين. وهل هذا الإيمان بحاجة إلى أضاحي؟ لماذا لم تكف البشرية حتى الآن عن تقديم القرابين والضحايا من أبناء جلدتها؟ وما الفرق بين الأضاحي والضحايا. وهل في الحياة مايستحق التضحية من أجله؟ وإذا كنا - كبشر- نؤمن بوجود جواهر مادية أو معنوية دينية أم دنيوية تستحق التضحية؟ فما صلاحيات هذه التضحية؟ وهل تضحيات ملايين البشر بأنفسهم وممتلكاتهم عبر التاريخ الإنساني أدى ألى تحسين نوعية الحياة وعائدات عالم مابعد الحياة؟ هذه بعض القضايا التي يحاول الكتاب الإجابة عنها كتاب جديد وجرئ في نوعه. قابل للحوار والنقد بل وحتى الدحض. هو محاولة لإعادة تقييم صلاحيات الخطاب الإسلامي المعاصر.
