يضع هذا الكتاب قواعد اللغة العبرية بين أيدي القراء والدارسين لما لهذه اللغة من روابط قرابة وثيقة باللغة العربية فهما من أصل سامي واحد، وبينهما ارتباط لغوي وثيق، فضلاً عن كونها لغة العهد القديم، مما يجعل الإلمام التام بنصها الديني وتطويعها لخدمة النص القرآني وفهم أسراره أمرا واجبا لدارسي النصوص الدينية. ولتفهم طبيعة النصوص الدينية وما قد تحتويه من مشاكل لغوية لا يستقيم إدراك الهدف منها أو شرحها دون إن نفهم اللغة التي كتبت بها فهماً سليماً، وذلك من خلال الوقوف على أسرار هذه اللغة وتراكيبها النحوية. أضف إلى ذلك دور اللغة العبرية في الكشف عن الكثير من غموض الألفاظ والتراكيب في لغتنا العربية وإسهامها في تصور مراحل تطورها اللغوي. فاللغة هي الظاهرة الأولى في كل عمل فني يستخدم الكلمة كأداة للتعبير، لأنها أول شيء يصادفنا، هي النافذة التي من خلالها نطل ومن خلالها نتنسم، هي المفتاح الذهبي الذي يفتح كل الأبواب، فاللغة هي الجناح الناعم الذي ينقلنا الى شتى الافاق، وقد عرف الإنسان العالم أو حاول أن يعرفه للأول مرة يوم أن عرف اللغة.
