يعد قانون أصول المحاكمات الجزائية سياج أمام للمجتمع والفرد المتهم في آن معا، فهو يوصل المجتمع إلى اقتصاد حقه في عقاب من أخل بأمنه ونظامه وبنفس الوقت يحقق الضمانات للمتهم للدفاع عن نفسه وقد عني هذا الكتاب بالإبحار في أعماق هذا البحر حيث قسم إلى ثلاثة أجزاء ،فقد خصص كل جزء منه للحديث عن جانب معين أما المقدمة فلقد ضمنت في محتواها الحديث عن القانون الجزائي واختصت ببيان علاقة قانون أصول المحاكمات الجزائية بقانون العقوبات كما اهتمت أيضا بالإشارة إلى أهداف هذا القانون ضمن محاولة لبيان علاقته بقانون أصول المحاكمات المدنية بينما اهتم الجزء الأول منه ببيان الدعوى التي ينظر إليها القضاء الجزائي كدعوى الحق العام ودعوى الحق الشخصي والفرق بينهما ثم تناول نظام النيابة العامة في الدعوى العامة وبحث كذلك في مسألة من ترفع الدعوى العامة وكيف يتم تحريكها كما تناول الأطراف التي يمكنها تحريك الدعوى العامة وكيف يتم تحريكها كما تناول الأطراف التي يمكنها تحريك الدعوى ثم شرع لبيان الحصانة سواء القضائية أو الإدارية أو النيابية الإجرائية أما الجزء الثاني فقد انبرى للحديث عن المراحل الإجرائية والتي تبدأ بمرحلة التحقيق الأولي وما يتبع هذه المرحلة من تحقيقات كما انبرى للحديث من القضاء الجزائي وكيف يتم تنظيمه وتشكيله وما هي اختصاصاته في حين اختص الجزء الثالث والأخير ببيان طرق الطعن في الأحكام الجزائية فدرس الأحكام العامة لطرق الطعن وأولها الاعتراض حيث وضح المقصود به والهدف منه كما عرض لشروطه الشكلية منها والموضوعية كما أن من طرق الطعن الاستئناف إذا وضح مفهومه وأساسه وخصائصه كما بين شروطه وشرع في الحديث عن الأحكام التي تقبل الاستئناف والتي لا يقبل إضافة لهذا كله فقد ناقش الآثار المترتبة على الاستئناف.
