إذا كان مجال التراث العلمي قد غمره الماضي بخبرته وتجربته، فإن الحاضر يسعى إلى حفظه وتنظيمه حتى لا يندثر مما يجب درسه والإخلاص في تقييمه لأنه صورة من الماضي وذخر الأجداد وبعض ما خلفوه للأجيال، وهو ما بقي لنا لنحكم به، ونستنتج منه، ونبني عليه، ومنه نستجلي فكرة واضحة تكشف عن غنى حضارة سلفت، وقدر أهلها العلم والعلماء وأكرموا وفادتهم.
وقد تم على صفحات هذا الكتاب إنجاز تحقيق مخطوط "أرجوزة الفواكه الصيفية والخريفية" لأبي الحسن علي بن إبراهيم الأندلسي المراكشي، التي مثلت خطاباً أدبياً وعلمياً. وقد عمل عليها الدكتور عبد الله بنصر العلوي، تحقيقاً ودراسة، باعتبارها جزءاً من الأداب والمعارف الإنسانية، وباعتبارها فرصة للاطلاع على التراث العلمي عامة، وعلم التغذية منه خاصة، نظراً لمجالاته المتعددة، فمن النبات والفاكهة والنبات غذاء ودواء، ومن ثم تداخلت العلوم وتكاملت.
وقد أنجز العمل وفق التصميم التالي: المقدمة، المدخل: علم التغذية في التراث المغربي، الفصل الأول: المؤلف والأرجوزة، الفصل الثاني: متن الأرجوزة، الفصل الثالث: دراسة الأرجوزة، الخاتمة.
