الأوراق التجارية هي تلك الأوراق القابلة للتداول بالطرق التجارية، فهي تنتقل بطرق التطهير إذا كانت للأمر، أو بطريق التسليم إذا كانت كاملها. وقد عالج التقنين التجاري اللبناني الأوراق التجارية في الكتاب الرابع منه في المواد من 315 إلى 450.
وعلى هذا، ذكر المشرع اللبناني ثلاثة أنواع للأوراق التجارية هي: 1- الكمبيالة أو سند السحب أو السفتجة، 2- السند الإدني أو السند لأمر، 3- الشيك وبهذا يكون كل صك يبتدعه العمل ويتوافر فيه خصائص الأوراق التجارية ويجري العرف على قبوله كأداة للوفاء في المعاملات يعتبر من قبيل الأوراق التجارية. وفي هذا الكتاب أفرد المؤلف الباب الأول منه للتعريف باستخدامات الكمبيالة أو سند السحب، وخصص لها المواد من 315 إلى 402. وعرض للسند الإدني أو السند لأمر في الباب الثاني في المواد من 403 إلى 408، وأحال في شأنه على قواعد الكمبيالة. ثم تكلم في الباب الثالث عن الشيك (المواد من 409 إلى 450). وختم الباب الرابع بعرض النظرية العامة للأوراق التجارية وغيرها من إجراءات الإفلاس والصلح الواقي من الإفلاس...
