النقد، الذي يتطلّع إليه مشروع "المطابقة والإختلاف"، ممارسة معرفية تتوغل في تلافيف الظواهر الثقافية والدينية والعرقية، لتتكشف أمام الأنظار طبيعةُ تلك الظواهر، وآلية الممارسات الخادعة التي تقوم بها، سواء في إنتاج ذات تدّعي النقاء، كما تقول بذلك المرويات الإسلامية، أم في إختزال الآخر وفق نمطٍ يوافق منظورها، كما تريد المرويّات الغربية.
وهدف هذا المشروع: توسيع مديات الوعي في الظواهر الحاكمة في عالمنا المعاصر، وتخصيب تشعُّباته النقدية، وإعطاء أهمية للبعد التاريخي للثقافات، دون أسرها في نطاق النزعات التاريخية.
إن النقد، في نهاية المطاف، ممارسة تعي شرط حريتها، وهو تفكير في موضوع التمركز غربياً كان أم إسلامياً، من أجل إبطال نزعة التمركز وتخريب مقوّماتها الداخلية، هو نقد لا يتقصّد إيجاد قطيعة شكلية مع هذا أو ذاك؛ بل ترتيب علاقة نقدية وفق أسس حوارية وتفاعلية وتواصلية؛ بهدف إيجاد معرفة جديدة تقوم على مبدأ "الإختلاف"، الذي هو بديل لــ"المطابقة"، فيكون إختلافاً عن خرافات الذات المتمركزة على نفسها وأساطيرها، ومسلّمات الآخر، ومصادراته، ومغالطاته، فلا يمكن أن تكون معرفة "الآخر" مفيدة إلا إذا تمّ التفكير فيها نقدياً، والإشتغال بها بعيداً من سيطرة مفاهيم الإذعان والولاء والتبعية، وبعيداً عن أحاسيس الطهرانية الذاتية وتقديس الأنا.
