في العربيّة مسائلُ تثير إنتباه الباحث المدقّق، وتتطلب منه الوقوف والتأمُل، وتشدُّ النظر إليها، إذ يبدو وجه المخالفة فيها بيّناً لقاعدة نحوّية مقرّرة، ولعلّ تلك المسائلَ المتناثرة تشكّل ظاهرة في العربيّة تستحقّ الدرس.
إن ظاهرة العدول عن المطابقة في العربيّة لم تجد حظّها في الدرس النحوّي، إذا لم يُلْتفَت إليها، وهذا بيّن في أنّ النحويين القدامى والمحدثين لم يفردوا لها باباً، أو فصلاً في مصنّفاتهم،فهذا التجافي دَفَع الباحث دفعاً إلى تناول هذه الظاهرة التي تناثرت مسائلها في مظانَ القدامى من نحويّين، ومفسرين، وبلاغيّين في صورة شذرات لا ينتظمها سمط.
وارتأى الباحث أن يكون هذا البحث في بابين، تندرج تحتهما سبعة فصول؛ أما الباب الأوّل فقد وُسِم بــ"ظاهرة العدول عن المطابقة لغة وإصطلاحاً، وتفسيرات القدامى والمحدثين لها، ودواعي المصير إليها"، تناول في الفصل الأوّل تعريف المطابقة في العربيّة لغةً وإصطلاحاً، مبيناً شرطها وأحكامها.
أمّا الفصل الثاني فقد أفرده لأصحاب النظر من النحويّين القدامى والمحدثين، أما الفصل الثالث فقد عقده لمسوّغات هذه الظاهرة، ثمّ وسم الباب الثاني بــ"ميادين العدول عن المطابقة في العربيّة"، وأدرج تحته أربعة فصول جَمَعَت مسائل هذه الظاهرة، إذ أنفرد الفصل الأوّل بمسألة العدد من حيثُ المعاقبة بين الأفراد والتثنية والجمع.
أما الفصل الثاني فقد جاء خاصّاً بمخالفة حكم التذكير والتأنيث، أما الفصل الثالث فجرى في مدار التعريف والتنكير، أما الفصل الرابع فأداره على حكم المخالفة في الحركة الإعرابيّة، ومن مسائل هذا الباب النعت بالمجاورة، والتوكيد، والبَدلُ، والعطف على التوهم، والنعت المقطوع.
