أباؤنا والمعلّمون، سلسلة تطلقها المكتبة البوليسيّة، ويُشرف عليها الخوري "بولس الفغالي"، وهي تتوخّى تعريفنا باللذين سبقونا من آباء الكنيسة الأنطاكيّة بشكل خاصّ، والمعلّمين الذين تبعوهم وما زالت آثارهم حاضرة بيننا؛ آباء يونان وسريان، كتّاب تركوا بصماتهم في كنائسنا العربيّة فنبشوا الغنى الذي نزخر به، وقدّموه للّذين كانوا قبلنا، وما زال أبناء القرن الحادي والعشرين يعودون إلى الذين قيل فيهم: "آثارهم تتبعهم".
"في رحاب مارون" كتاب نقرأه ونحن نتذكّر ذاك الذي قضى حياته في الصلاة على جبل كورش؛ منذ 1600 سنة لا تزال يداه مرتفعتين وعيناه ناظرتين إلى أولاده المنتشرين في لبنان وفي العالم؛ وقد جاء الكتاب في قسمين كبيرين: الأوّل، جولات ولقطات، يدعونا إلى جولة مع هؤلاء الذين رفعوا اسم مارون عاليّاً، في مجال العلم والتقى والقداسة، من البطريرك الدويهيّ إلى الطوباويّ يعقوب الكبّوشيّ، والمطران عبد الله قراعلي وغيرهم.
أمّا القسم الثاني، فيُدخلنا إلى المدرسة المارونيّة التي تأسّست سنة 1584 وانتشر طلاّبها في جامعات أوروبّا وفي بلاط ملوكها، فحملوا كنوز الشرق إلى الغرب، وأتوا بالكثير من الغرب إلى الشرق، ففتحوا طريق الحداثة التي نمت وأثمرت فوصلت بنا إلى ما يُسمّى النهضة العربيّة الثانية؛ مع ترجمات الكتاب المقدّس والأبحاث اللغويّة العديدة التي لا تزال تغذّينا في مطلع القرن الحادي والعشرين، من الحاقلانيّ والصهيونيّ والبانيّ وصولاً إلى السماعنة وبطرس البستانيّ وفارس الشدياق...
مدى واسع دخلنا فيه ولم نستنفدْه بعد ونرجو العودة إليه لأنّ شعباً لا يعرف تاريخه ولا يتذكّر الآباء الذين سبقوه، هو شعب لا يستحقّ الحياة.
