لقد انصرف الناس إلى البحث عن معنى لحياتهم وضوء في مستقبلهم خارج محيط تلك البيئة المحدودة الضيقة وذات الأفق الإقتصادي والتنموي شبه المسدود في مدينة أبها وقراها.
عزز ذلك تعزيزاً مرعباً ظهور وسائل الحياة الجديدة التي تعمل على حساب إزاحة تقاليد أو أساليب الحياة القديمة التي اعتدناها في نشأتنا.
ومن واقع الإيمان بان الطبيعة بدورها لا بد أن تتفاعل مع هذا كله، فما حدث ويحدث للطبيعة والغطاء النباتي في عسير الآن، يمكن تفسيره في سياق ما حدث من تحولات إجتماعية ماثلة في شخصية المكان، وظواهرها الإجتماعية.
فكان تجريف التربة الذي تعانيه عسير عموماً بسبب الإنتشار والزحف العمراني والتعامل الجائر مع الطبيعة فضلاً عن التطورات المناخية الحديثة، وغيرها من الأسباب، كان تجريفاً بيئياً وإنسانياً على حد سواء...
