هذه الدراسة الفريدة من نوعها هي في أصلها رسالة ماجستير، تسلط الضوء على البناء التنظيمي للأسرى الفلسطينيين داخل سجن النقب الصحراوي. ويسعى الكاتب فيها إلى دراسة مدى التزام الأسرى والفصائل بالمواثيق واللوائح التي اعتمدوها داخل السجن، وذلك عن طريق تحليل بيانات كان قد جمعها من خلال استبانة تمّ توزيعها على 20% من الأسرى داخل هذه السجن سنة 2005.
وتحتوي هذه الدراسة على خمسة فصول، ركزت على سجن النقب وقيادته النضالية، ودرست الوثيقة الاعتقالية واللوائح التنظيمية التي اعتمدتها الفصائل الفلسطينية. كما تضمنت تحليلاً لنتائج الاستبانة والاستنتاجات والتوصيات التي توصل إليها الباحث.
وأرفق هذا الكتاب ببعض الملاحق المهمة كنص الوثيقة الاعتقالية لأسرى سجن النقب الصحراوي، ونماذج من اللوائح الداخلية في السجن للفصائل الفلسطينية؛ كما تتضمن قواعد وتعليمات عامة تطبق على جميع الأسرى.
