لعل هذه الشهادة التي تجري على لسان أحد الأسرى الفلسطينيين خير مدخل لولوج كتاب "مذكرات الأسرى" والكتاب هو من إعداد الصحفي ياسر البنا الذي بدأ العمل به بعد سماعه لشهادات مروّعة رواها الأسرى الذين أفرجت عنهم إسرائيل خلال صفقة تبادل الأسرى مع حركة حماس، المعروفة باسم صفقة شاليط، في 18 اكتوبر/ تشرين الأول 2011 م.
ومذكرات الأسرى هي سلسلة كتابات تحرك المشاعر يرويها سجناء فلسطينيون تحملوا صنوف العذاب لعقود في ظلام شبكة سجون إسرائيل غير الشرعية وغير الإنسانية.
تمكننا هذه النصوص من الشعور بالواقع الفلسطيني إلى حد كبير، وتوفر لنا فهماً للمعاناة المرتبطة بالعيش في ظل احتلال مهين طويل الأمد، بطريقة حيّة لا يمكن للإحصائيات حتى أن تحققها مهما بلغت من إتقان.
يجمع هذا الكتاب في طياته ما شهده الأسرى بأم أعينهم حول نظام السجون الإسرائيلية الهائل بطريقة تكفي لإعطاء القارئ فهماً متكاملاً لأبعاد المحنة الفلسطينية الأكثر ألماً.
يحتوي الكتاب ثلاثة وأربعون مقابلة/ شهادة للأسرى المحررون خلال صفقة التبادل السالفة الذكر، وأُعد بطريقة تختلف عن الطرق التقليدية في إعداد الكتب، حيث استمع ياسر البنا ومعه، فيحاء شلش، رشا فرحات، سماح المزين، هيثم غراب، معاذ العامودي، حنان مطير، محمد المنيراوي، خالد كريزم، ومها شهوان لشهادات الأسرى، ثم أعادو صياغتها على ألسنتهم، معتمدين أسلوب "أدب المذكرات". والأسرى هم: عبد الرحمن شهاب، إبراهيم المصري، ابراهيم شلش، عباس شبانة، سناء شحادة، أحمد النجار، أكرم منصور، إياد عبيات، أرينا سراحنة، سليم الكيالي، روحي مشتهى، ابراهيم جندية، عبادة بلال، علاء البازيان، علي العامودي، فرسان خليفة، قاهرة السعدي، مازن فقهاء، محمد الديراوي، مروان الزرد، وفاء البس، نائل البرغوثي، عبد الله أبو شلبك، عبير عمرو، أكرم الريخاوي، أكرم سلامة، أيمن الشراونة، بسام النتشة، فراس أبو شخيدم، هناء شلبي، وليد عقل، إيهاب قنن، خضر عدنان، مراد أبو ركاب، نزار التميمي، رأفت العروقي، شعبان حسونة، صمود كراجة، طه الشخشير، تيسير سليمان، حسن الصفدي، ياسر حجار، وحسن سلامة.
