ولد المؤلف عام 1934في قرية جمرين التابعة لناحية بصرى الشام محافظة درعا. حاز على شهادة العلوم العسكرية من الكلية العسكرية في مدينة حمص عام 1964. أحيل على التقاعد بتاريخ 1964/4/7م. و قد حاز على شهادة الليسانس من كلية الآداب في جامعة دمشق إختصاص تاريخ 1968. حاز على شهادة الدبلوم العامة في التربية من كلية التربية جامعة دمشق 1969. شهادة الماجستير في العلوم الاسلامية و التاريخية من جامعة لاهور في باكستان عام 1984م. حاز على درجة موجه أول تربوي للمواد الإجتماعية في مديرية الثقافة العسكرية في أبو ظبي .
