لا شك أن إحياء مآثر العلماء، أو نقل سيرهم أو نشر علمهم، أو بث فوائدهم، لمن الإحسان إليهم، وشكر فضلهم على الامة، وهو من أعمال البر التي يرجى من الله تعالى أن يتقبلها بقول حسن، ولهذه الغاية جاء كتاب (فوح الياسمين من الأحاديث المسلسلة بالشاميين) وهي أحاديث بالسماع مروية عن شيخ الإسلام ومسندها العلامة الشريف زهير بن مصطفى الشاويش الحسيني الدمشقي، قام بتخريج أحاديثها الأستاذ قاسم بن محمد قاسم ضاهر البقاعي وقدم لها بمقدمة الشيخ محمد زياد التكلة.
في المضمون الكتاب هو عبارة عن بعض الاحاديث التي انتخبها - محقق الكتاب - من مجموعة من الكتب والأجزاء الحديثية لبعض الأئمة مما ورد عن طريق علماء من دمشق ورويت عن طريق الشيخ العلامة زهير الدمشقي؛ بأسانيد غالبها شامية لأصحاب المرويات.
يضم الكتاب (17) حديثاً ذات سند مسلسل بالشاميين في أغلبها، نقرأ منها: عن عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص رضي الله عنه، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: "إني رأيت أن عمود الكتاب انتزع من تحت وسادتي، فأتبعته بصري، فإذا هو نور ساطع عُمِدَ به إلى الشام، ألا وإن الإيمان إذا وقعت الفتن بالشام" [أخرجه تمام في فوائده (1378) بهذا الإسناد].
