إن تسمية الزواج الديني هي تسمية مطابقة للمضمون أي أنه زواج قائم على مفاهيم الدين وأحكامه، وقد أوضحت الشريعة الإسلامية السمحة الحقوق الزوجية، ومفهوم الزواج وأهدافه وشروطه وأركانه على أساس متين ثابت لتحقيق المودة والرحمة والاستقرار والهدوء لبناء أسرة مؤمنة هي النواة الصالحة للمجتمع الفاضل.
أما الزواج المدني "اللا ديني" الوضعي الوافد إلينا من الغرب حيث التحلل الخلقي، وتفكك الروابط الأسرية والزوجية، وانهيار الأسرة فهو باطل وحرام ومخالف في معظم نظامه للشريعة الإلهية.
