تقدم هذه الدراسة موضوعاً مهماً يتعلق ببناء الأسرة واستقرارها، وبالتالي بناء المجتمع على أسس سليمة، ولاشك أن الزواج باعتباره عقداً رسمياً بين شخصين راشدين، أساس لبناء العائلة. إلا أن العائلة مثل باقي المؤسسات الإجتماعية، قد تتعرض لمشكلات مهددة للعلاقة بين الزوجين، تؤدي في أسوأ الأحوال إلى الطلاق، وقد تشكل هذه الدراسة الرائدة في الجزائر، التي أجرتها الدكتورة/ كلثوم بلميهوب، مدخلاً لدراسات عيادية ونفسية- إجتماعية جديدة متعمقة. وذلك من خلال دراسة العوامل التي تسهم في تحقيق استقرار الحياة الزوجية، ومن خلال استعمال مقاييس موضوعية لتشخيص المشكلات التي يواجهها الأزواج، ومن ثم وضع البرامج الوقائية والعلاجية المناسبة على مستوى الأزواج والأفراد.
وتتكون الدراسة من سبعة فصول: الفصل الأول: أهمية الموضوع- تحديد المفاهيم، الفصل الثاني: الزواج، الفصل الثالث: العوامل المساهمة في تحقيق الإستقرار الزواجي، الفصل الرابع: النظريات التحليلية والنظامية في العلاج الزواجي، الفصل الخامس: النظريات التفاعلية (السلوكية والمعرفية) في العلاج الزواجي، الفصل السادس ويحتوي على مشكلة البحث وخطة الدراسة الميدانية، يليه الفصل السابع وبه عرض النتائج ومناقشتها ثم أخيراً الخاتمة.
