يسلط هذا الكتاب الضوء على أهم التغيرات التي طالت الأحكام التي تنظم عقد العمل في ظل حركة "التحديث التشّريعي" في قسمين رئيسين وذلك لمعرفة موقع عند العمل اللبناني من مواكبة التحوّلات الإقتصادية والإجتماعية كما عكس هذا الكتاب دور إجتهاد القضاء اللبناني في مواكبة الإتجاهات الحديثة لمحكمة التمييز الفرنسية وتأكيدها على تجديد الطابع المدني لعقد العمل.
في القسم الأول تطرقت الدراسة إلى أبرز التحولات في مضمون عقد العمل، إن في ظل مرونة قانون العمل أو في ظل نظرية الحوار الإجتماعي كما أبرزت تجديد الطابع المدني لعقد العمل.
وفي القسم الثاني أظهرت الدراسة أبرز التحولات في تنفيذ عقد العمل إن لجهة عودة المفهوم المدني في إلزامية تنفيذ عقد العمل، بحيث يتم تنفيذ عقد العمل دون تعديل بإرادة منفردة وبحسن نية وإلزامية الحقوق المكتسبة الناشئة عن تنفيذ عقد العمل، وصحة البنود الإتفاقية في العقد وأهم ما تركته العولمة من تأثير على عقد العمل هو الخروج عن الإلزامية للحفاظ على ديمومة العمل.
لم يكن التصدي للمواضيع الآنفة الذكر وعلى صعيد القانون المقارن الفرنسي والمصري بالسهولة المتصورة إذ استوجب العمق في الثقافة القانونية والسّعة في الإطلاع على قانونين مقارنين الفرنسي والمصري مع التطور الذي لحق بهما وهي صفات تتسم بها الكاتبة الشغوفة بالبحث العلمي القانوني.
إنه إنجاز علمي قيّم تظهر فيه قدرة الباحثة على الإبداع، وينبأ بمستقبل متميّز لثمرة عمل الدكتورة ربى الحيدري لأنه سيفيد كل المهتمين بقانون وقضايا العمل والعمال.
