سنعلم من خلال هذا الكتاب الجهد الكبير والعظيم لأعضاء الوفد، ودور الأمير شكيب أرسلان الذي كان من أعضاء الوفد الثلاثة (الأمير شكيب أرسلان، وسليمان بك كنعان وإحسان بك الجابري" الذين وصلوا إلى مدينة جنوى في العام 1922 لبسط القضية السورية على مسامع رجال الدول الذين كانوا عاقدين في تلك المدينة المؤتمر الدولي الإقتصادي المعروف بـ "مؤتمر جنوى". إن نظرة سريعة إلى هذا الكتاب توضح لنا أن الوفد لم يدخر وسعاً في دعاية القضية السورية وخدمتها والحث على تأييدها، لقد طرق الوفد أبواب جميع المؤتمرات والمجالس والمجتمعات الدولية التي عقدت في أوربا من مؤتمر جنوى إلى مؤتمر لوزان فكانوا المدافعين الذين لا غاية لهم غير تحرير بلادهم وإستقلالها من الإنتداب.
يقع الكتاب في ثلاثة عشر فصلاً تمثل محطات الوفد على الشكل الاتي: 1- في تأليف الوفد وكتاب اللجنة التنفيذية، 2- الوفد في جنوى ومذكرته إلى المؤتمر، 3- الوفد في روما، 4- الوفد في جنيف بشهر مايو سنة 1922، 5- الوفد في برن ولاهاي ومارينباد، 6- الوفد وجلس جمعية الأمم في لندن، 7- تأييد الأمة وجمعياتها للوفد، 8- أقوال الصحف في تأييد الأمة للوفد، 9- جلسات مجلس جمعية الامم، 10- نص صكي الإنتداب لسورية ولبنان وفلسطين، 11- احتجاج الوفد على الوصاية الفرنسوية، 12- حفلة الوداع في لندن، 13- الوفد في جنيف، وأخيراً مذكرة من أجل لبنان.
