تحت عنوان (الأديان ومدنية أهلها) يقول الأمير: "... كما أن انحطاط المدينة الأوربية في القرون الوسطى لم يكن المسؤول عنه الإنجيل. وكما أن انحطاط الإسلام الحالي ليس بالمسؤول عنه القرآن، بل هناك عوامل كثيرة وأن نسبه رقيَ الأمم إلى تأثير الديانة بنا إلى القول بأن ترقَي اليابان الحالي هو من ثمرات مذهب شينتو. هذا ما عدا المدنيات القديمة، كمدينة الصين والهند والمدنيات البائدة نظير مدينة بابل ونينوى والنبط والفينيقيين وكل هؤلاء كانوا أوثنيين فهل نجعل الوثنية مصدر هذه الثمرات؟ إذاً لم يبق فضل للنصرانية على الوثنية. إذاً البرهان على انحطاط الإسلام من جهة انحطاط المسلمين اليوم هو برهان ساقط بأدنى تأمل، وليس الإسلام بمسؤول في القرون الأخيرة عن انحطاط المسلمين...".
