هذا الكتاب مختصر ومفيد، اقتصر اعتماد مؤلفه على عدد من المصادر ونقل منه بعض النصوص والمعلومات والوقائع بأمانة فكانت ثمرة جهده وافية بالغرض؛ تعطي القارئ - في زمن تضاءل فيه عدد القراء - صورة حية عن شخص الفقيد عدنان المالكي، حياته وكفاحه ومأساة إغتياله، وعن الدوافع التي أدت إلى الغدر به تنفيذاً لمخطط أجنبي عدواني عمد إلى تسخير حركة حزبية كان من الممكن أن تجنب نفسها وأعضاءها الكثير من البلاء والمصائب، لو أنها سارت على نهج ديمقراطي حر وفق ما كان يمليه عليها قانون الأحزاب والجمعيات السياسية، ويبدو جلياً ان الإنحراف عن جادة القانون هو الذي جعل قادة تلك الحركة ينحدرون بإدارتهم إلى درك الجريمة وهوة الخيانة، حين أسهموا في مؤامرة القضاء على رجل وطني غيور كرس حياته ونشاطه وكفاحه لخدمة وطنه ودفع غوائل الشر والعدوان عنه.
وإذا نقل المؤلف النص الكامل لرسائل كان قد أرسلها الفقيد من السجن، أعطى بذلك صورة واضحة عن نمط تفكير عدنان ونظرته للأمور العامة، كما ان سرد خلاصة جلسات المحاكمة يعطي فكرة واضحة عن سير العدالة في كشف النقاب عن الجريمة الخيانة والمؤامرة الدنيئة التي شكل تنفيذها نقطة تحول خطيرة في مجرى السياسة العامة لهذا البلد الأمين.
