ان مجرد وجود علاقة متينة بين الشعر والرسم لا يعني ان الامر يخلو من صعوبة لأن التعامل مع الشعر بهذه الطريقة يتطلب قدرة على انتزاع اللوحات المتشكلة من الشعر وتحليلها بما يحافظ على خصوصية الشعر كونه هو الغاية من الدراسة اصلاً، والصعوبة تكمن أيضاً في تتبع المراحل التي تقطعها عناصر الصورة في التشكيل النصي وفاعلية التلقي لاخراجه الى حيز الوجود، وهي عملية تشير الى صعوبة استحصاله ضمن الكيفية الاداركية المعتادة، ولكن هذا لا يعني قطعاً استحالة الدراسة، لوجود الكثير من المؤشرات المساعدة على ذلك بالشكل المطلوب والنابع من التفهم العميق لخصوصية كل من الشعر والرسم وعملية التحولات الجارية بكيفيات تفضي الى بعضها البعض. لقد اختار البحث ان يدرس هذا الجانب في شعر السياب بوصفه شاعراً عراقياً من جهة، ورائد الشعر الحديث من جهة أخرى، وأن شعره يمثل نموذجاً رحباً - حسب علمنا - في تحقيق الغاية المبتغاة من وراء ذلك، وإذا كانت البحوث والدراسات قد كثرت عن السياب وعن شعره الا أن هذه الدراسات على كثرتها لم تلتفت الى ظاهرة التشكيل باللسانيات في شعره، لذا حاولنا ان نفتح بوابة الظاهرة التشكيلية في شعر السياب، أي بمعنى آخر محاولة النظر الى شعره من زاوية تشكيلية.
